After wife found dead, New Jersey man faces drug charges

When police respond to a situation at any residence, what they find or what they think may have happened at the scene can lead to criminal charges against an individual. When police went to a New Jersey home recently, they found a woman inside who was deceased. They then charged the woman’s husband with drug charges.

The woman who died was 34 and her husband is 33. The cause of her death is being investigated. The husband has not been charged with anything relating to his wife being dead in the home. However, her death has been labeled suspicious.

The husband was charged with possession of heroin and also with intent to distribute. He was also charged with having a prescription drug that was not gotten under valid circumstances. Reports describe the man as uncontrollably laughing as he was put in a police car upon his arrest. It was also reported that a child was taken from the scene and put in an ambulance. The husband’s bail was set at $35,000.

The drug charges levied against the New Jersey man are pretty serious and can lead to high fines and jail time. If other charges are filed on top of the drug charges, the man may be looking at even harsher penalties. However, regardless of what police state or describe as far as charges are concerned, individuals arrested for drug charges in New Jersey are innocent until proven otherwise and should be fully aware of their rights and protections under the law.
