When drivers are stopped by police in New Jersey on suspicion of DUI, they may be asked to submit to a Breathalyzer test. A Breathalyzer is a device that is designed to detect the presence and amount of alcohol in the human body.

2 men charged for allegedly faking a roadblock

Two New Jersey men were apprehended and charged for allegedly making a fake roadblock. The incident occurred on Nov. 2 on the New Jersey Turnpike's Newark Bay Extension. A motorist's dashboard camera reportedly captured the two men on video. According to the driver, when he came upon the roadblock, he reportedly asked if the men needed assistance. However, when one of the men reached into his pockets, the driver fled the scene and alerted police.

What penalties can a court give in a juvenile case?

When a juvenile is adjudicated as delinquent in New Jersey, the sentencing judge has several penalties available depending on the nature of the offense and the juvenile's record. Penalties imposed in juvenile cases are supposed to be designed to rehabilitate the defendant while also giving sufficient penalties to act as a deterrence from committing future offenses.
